Coach Ewald begins his twelfth year coaching in the Railer basketball program and his tenth year as head varsity assistant. Back in 2000, Eric took over this position after stringing together two impressive seasons as head freshmen coach and compiling a 36-8 record. Three years ago, Coach Ewald became the first assistant coach in the school’s history to be a part of three Elite-Eight State Tournament teams.
His head assistant position carries with it the responsibility of working with Coach Alexander on a daily basis to develop and prepare players to compete at the highest level.
Ewald is no stranger to Lincoln’s athletic programs. He played in the Railer basketball program for two years, but was most noted as a baseball player, who still holds Lincoln’s base stealing record set in ’87. Eric is currently teaching English at LCHS. He and his wife Heather have two children: a twelve-year-old daughter, Madi, and a seven-year-old son, Will.
